Family Is Everything

Over the past couple years I’ve realized much more about my family and how much they mean to me. Through High School, and relationships, from my first job, and college visits, they’ve always been my biggest supporters. I’m leaving home to go to a college about three hours away, and I’ll admit, I’m nervous. I’ve never been the type to get homesick but there are definitely some things I’m going to miss about constantly being around my loving family.

For starters, I’m going to miss the person to person interaction with them. Of course I will call them up, probably more often than I’d like to admit. But it wont be the same. I will be missing our nightly home cooked meals, our evening cruises, our relaxing pool days, and Sunday morning church services together. For those who haven’t quite left home yet, the best advice I can give is to cherish all the moments you have with your family right now.

It’s odd getting older and slowly coming to the conclusion that my family members are almost always right about most life situations. I’m so thankful that they dealt with all these experiences before I had to, cause what would I do without their never-ending advice?!?

I appreciate everything my family has done for me through my whole life. My dad has always fixed everything for us, my mom has always gotten us up for school, my sister has always challenged me, my cousin has always been there to spend some good times with, and everyone else in my family has always supported me and given me the best life advice they could give.

Every member of my family deserves a huge thank you for all that they’ve done to shape me into the person I am today. So in the following paragraphs, that’s exactly what I’ve done. Just a small thank you note to everyone in my family.

To My Mother,

Thank you for always guiding me. For keeping me on the right path, and when I strayed, for helping me choose new ones. Thanks for teaching me that even when you’re an adult, it’s still okay to cry every once in a while. Also thank you for inspiring my tastes in music, and encouraging my adventurous side.

To My Father,

Thank you for being the father any little girl could ever want. Thanks for caring and loving me so unconditionally. Thanks for giving me so many neat life experiences. And thank you for always working hard to provide for our amazing little family.

To My Sister,

Oh boy. Thanks for teaching me to have patience. Thanks for giving me someone to fight with, and still love in the end. Thanks for challenging me, for building my creativity, and for proving that kids see and copy everything an older sibling does, so it’s important to be a good role model.

To My Grandparents,

Thank you for always being around. Thanks for filling in when my parents were so busy, or needed a vacation. Thank you for teaching me to sew, and cook, and build, and fish, and golf, and do everything that old people do. 🙂

To My Aunts,

Thank you for being incredibly cool women. Thank you for showing me how to do my hair, and my nails. Thank you for your sense of humor, and thank you for always being great people to chat with.

To My Uncles,

Thank you for being crazy, and for cracking me up every visit without failure. Although sometimes you may not be the GREATEST role model, you always put a smile on my face.

To My Cousin And Best Friend,

Thank you for the best times of my life. I always loved visiting you, and when I couldn’t visit, chatting on the phone for hours every day. Thanks for teaching me to shop for all sales possible, cause we go shopping a lot. And thanks for being my best companion during Chicago trips. Life would be no fun without you.

THANK YOU ALL ❤
