Whether you’re going into your senior year or you’ve already accomplished the whole graduating thing, you understand how emotional this big step can be. I graduated from my small town high school about a month ago and I can say from experience that it’s a big step and a huge change.
Likewise to any big life event, there are so many emotions toying with your mind all at once. Graduation is definitely a day that will get to the best of you. Graduation is so bittersweet. It’s incredibly nerve-racking and scary, and sometimes even sad, but it’s also one of the most exciting and happy days of anyone’s educational years. Even though it’s taken a lot of hard work to get to this day, and you’re excited to move on to bigger better things, it’s okay to let a couple of tears slip. It happens to the best of us.
The day of your graduation ceremony, although somewhat stressful, should be one of your most memorable days. Make sure you do everything you can on that day to cherish it.
Attend that baccalaureate service, I doubt you’ll regret spending a few moments to hear what your friends and teachers have to preach to you. I understand that some kids don’t really even care to do the walk anymore but I don’t really understand why. You’ve spent 12+ years working your way up to this day. This is your moment to walk across that stage and grab your diploma. Do It!
I know it can be embarrassing to have your parents snapping pics every 5 minutes but put on your best smile and let them capture this day. It will be so much fun to look back on these photos 20 years later.
So you’ve got your diploma in hand, you’ve tossed your cap, you’ve hugged your teachers goodbye, and you’ve given your best farewell. Maybe these won’t really be the best days of your life as every one has told you they will be. However, aren’t you so thankful to have made so many memories throughout the years? And now what?… The world is out there and it’s yours to discover. Continue creating the best days of your life, cause it doesn’t end after your school years.
It’s been a long, emotional day. Now that it’s all over you might as well let loose and celebrate a little. Maybe have a big party or a nice family dinner, or a bonfire with some friends. Get wild or unwind, whatever you choose it’s your day, and you deserve a little celebration.
